RSV Vaccinations in September

RSV stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It is one of the most common viruses to cause coughs and colds in the autumn and winter. For most people, RSV infection causes a mild respiratory illness but in the very young and the elderly it can cause more severe respiratory disease, including pneumonia.

This is a single vaccination to help boost protection as you reach an age group at higher risk. Unlike the flu vaccine you do not need to have the RSV vaccine every year.

We will be inviting eligible patients to come for vaccination in September before we start our Flu and Covid clinics. These will follow, in October.

You are eligible if you are aged 75-79 on 1st September 2024. If you turn 75 after this date we will invite you on or shortly after your birthday.
